August 3-2010

Largest Chinook : 60lbs.
Largest Halibut : 58lbs.

This past trip started out pretty slow.  The water seemed a little murky and just not fishy.  We had a really strong Northwesterly wind come through and it really did blow in the fish.  Yesterday compared to the day before was incredible even under the windy conditions.  Big Chinook were brought in from all over the chart, Honey Hole(#3), east side of Rennison(#16), Arnie's Hole(#7) and Ryan's Hole all produced a good number of Chinooks and the average size was high 20's into the 30's.  We did have a highlight for the year thus far with the first 60 pound Chinook brought in from Rennison Island, landed by Marcos Lopez.   The Coho are still around keeping people busy and seem to be growing.  The average size is probably 10-14 pounds and are offering up some great opportunities for bucktailers.  Bait and spoons have been working best for all the salmon fishing.

The Halibut fishing has drastically improved as well.  The Pinnacle(#1 tie up) has produced many Halibut over 30 pounds over the past couple of days and regularly.  With winds up unfortunately no groundfishing took place out on the rocks.
