July 2-2010

Largest Chinook : 32lbs.
Largest Halibut : 99lbs.

Well the Northwest wind blew and the fish came back in.  For the past few days the intensity of the bites have been getting better and better, and today proved it.  The Chinooks were caught all day long, all around the 20 pound mark.  The best methods were trolling Coyote Party Girl 5.0 Spoons and amazingly enough mooching with cutplug herring was the top producer.  Hooray!  Still the better places to fish was Ryan's Hole(#9) the Darkside(#10)and the west side opening of Parker Passage.  Out front of the lodge was also one of the better hot spots today, a good number of springs were caught trolling off the big rock.

The Halibut fishing is still consistent off our buoys, but some big ones have been brought in from out at Towner Banks.  The catches of Snapper and Lingcod is still great offshore.  The lingcod are small but very plentiful and as per usual the snapper catches are almost a sure thing.

The weather is looking good for the next few days so we should be looking at some quality bites out on the water.
