July 29-2017

Largest Chinook : 47lbs.
Largest Halibut : 100lbs.

We just came off the flattest couple of days imagineable.  The water was calm, no rain and a pile of fish brought in.  Like a pile.

Salmon fishing was the best at Area 51, consistent catches of Chinook and Coho were had.  Biggest of which was 47 pounds caught on a flasher anchovy.  Turtle Rock again was on fire at times, giving up salmon 20 plus pounds and some monster Coho.  Honey Hole still has a few fish in it and Sailor Rock some of the biggest, in excess of 40 pounds.  Still same old for tackle, anchovies, green or white flashers, irish creme spoons and the use of Kone Zones were primarily used.

Halibut fishing was off teh charts, Duckers gave up numerous plus 50# halibut... a little bit of a ride but worth it each time.

Bottomfishing has been tough, the search for lingcod continues.  Snapper a dime a dozen.

The feeling is that the "real" big ones have started to move in from seeing a 40 plus pounder brought in each day.  Interesting to see how the next week goes.
