The fishing right now is the best we have ever had at this time of year – maybe best fishing we have had in the past few years….period. The whole area is full of Chinook, average catches are 18-28 pounds with multiple Tyee landed over the past couple of days. Also, take into consideration that our weather has been rainy and windy so we have been limited to where we can fish. But with the bad weather fish keep on rolling in and feeding on the massive schools of bait in the area. Trolling green, white or black flashers with anchovy or spoons has been the ticket, but whole herring and daisy chains set ups have been doing great as well. # 1 (the wall), # 2 (Sailor Rock), Nob Hill to Ulric Point (#4-5), #13 (Wall Island) and Arnie’s Hole to #7 (The River) have all had amazing bites go on. The fish are everywhere along with great fishing in Borrowman Bay and Kettle Inlet. Running Gear anywhere from 47-67′ on a swift troll has been effective.
Halibut fishing has been great off the Pinnacle and Little Haida Gwaii and some great Lingcod fishing has been had at Cliffe Rock.
