The fishing is still on in the area. After an incredible opening trip, the sun came out and the fish got sleepy for the first couple of days but the last two days have proved that the first trip wasn’t a one hit wonder. The fish have come back into our neighbourhood and are offering great action all throughout the day and the average size is still far beyond what we have seen in years. Most kept are 18-25 pounds, with 4 over 30 and the biggest weighing in at 35 pounds. Arnie’s Hole, Preacher Rock and Sailor Rock to the Honey Hole have been by far the best for size and quantity. Anchovies are still dominating, towed behind white or green flashers or with daisy chains. The Coho are still around and offering good opportunity to fill tags, not huge 4-6 pounds but a rarity this time of the year. The weather has been a little rough up until today for bottomfishing, but getting good reports from south of the lodge on Halibut being caught out at Russel Banks and Bridgeman Rocks. Great end to the trip, big catches and lots of action.
