The fishing madness continues, we had a little rain and with it came a new run of Chinook in the area. Still great sizes being landed all day long, high teens to mid 20’s and a good jag of Coho in select areas. The bite is widespread throughout our fishing grounds, Kettle Inlet has been a go to spot for the past couple of weeks, the Arnie’s Hole area(Preacher to #7) has been best for the hogs and the top ends of the islands(Rennison and Arsitazabal) are on fire for both Chinook and Coho fishing. Trolling bare spoons or flasher/anchovy still reigns as the best way to entice a bite. The fish were running pretty deep at the top ends, 70-110 feet and in Kettle you are scraping bottom at 55-65′.
Bottom fishing was super strong, ling cod having been coming in droves from 15-25 pounds and the halibut fishing isn’t too shabby either. For the ling most guys are pounding Cliffe, Spencer and Towner Banks. Halibut fishing has been the most consistent for Turkeys at Russell and Chickens at the Ranch.
